MRDEA AS1011 Rejected, Analysis
Rejected-Analysis
This film opening meetsd most of the film opening conventions which is why i chose it.
It starts by subtly having the producer and director names on the screen, which are wiped away by characters which gives a nice smooth effect.
It starts off with slow music which gives a sense of mystery but then as the main character is shown the music gets slightly faster and jumpier, which would make the viewer think that the film is going to be perhaps fast paced and abnormal.
The type of character used is also the director which makes them the viewpoint character meaning the story is told through their own eyes, i like this effect within this film opening as it helps you to sympathise with the character more as its direct from them.
The dialogue keeps mentioning 'I thought i would be able to control it..' this leaves a sense of enigma as the viewer would want to know what it is causing the problem and what needs controlling.
There is also an introduction to the main character, the main character is shown at many angles, some with her walking away from the camera. The most effective one i think is where Kate is shot in low angle as this immediately makes the viewer think that she is the less superior character and more vulnerable than the rest.
Towards the end there is repitition on the abuse that the amin character is recieving, this adds emphasis as to th the pain and neglect she is having to live with which again helps the viewer symphasise with her.
The main title is shown at the end so that it has a strong impact and sticks in your mind.
