Font Research

The font can be very important n the impact of the titles and credits, for example if we put a girly bubbly font on our title people may doubt our films potential to be scary.

Film Logo Research

 20th Century Fox.
since 1935.
This is a well known production company logo. Its associated with some of the most successful films such as, Avatar, star wars and alien.
The colours used in this logo are all relatively neutral. The main subject is in gold, the colour gold shows wealth. Therefore making the audience feel that the film company are superior.

Dreamworks
since 1994
This isnt as established as some other film company's but has still produced some wide known films such as Shrek. The colours are bold and bright making the font and font colour stand out from the background.Dreamworks are to thank for a great deal of animation films so the colours used in the logo give a friendly child like feel.

Paramount Pictures
since 1912
This is the oldest surviving hollywood logo. They are responsible for such films as, shutter island and jackass. The colours are quite blended but the font colour still stands out.

Props And Costumes

Props and costumes

The props and costumes we have decided to use are:

Props:

  • A simple and effective weapon for Dave Nickles to use, its a realistic prop to use as its easy to access.

  • The kettle is a prop focused on as one of the shots shows the young woman making a cup of tea showing her living her normal everyday life before it gets disturbed.

  • We will be using a floor of scattered images for the first thirty seconds with the womans face scratched out, this creates a sense of enigma as the viewer would be wanting to know why her face has been erased from the image.

Costumes:

  • The killer is wearing dark clothes this is a connotation that the man is going to do something wrong, he is identified within the first 10 seconds of action. The dark clothes will be simple giving him no individuality as he is a dark character wanting to blend into the background.

  • The woman is wearing normal everyday clothes to make her look innocent. The clothes are a connotation that she is not bad so the good and bad in the film is already been established. The normal preferably brighter clothes means she does ave individuality and straight away becomes a a more likeable character.

Tonights Progress

Tonight we filmed the establishing shot of sophies house in which the film opening will take place. This proved slightly difficult as cars and different kept going past which could make the editing harder as the sounds may not link together. We shot the house from various angles but settled for one that was straight on.
